Can we accept online payments for enrolments using the web plugin?

Please read on for more info

Last updated on 11 Sept, 2024

Yes, Student online payments can be configured provided the RTO has an account with one of the following online payment providers:

BPoint

Eway

PayPal

PayWay

PinPayments

Whichever provider you decide to use, you will need to provide API access information to PowerPro, so the Web Plugin can work with your payments provider on your behalf

If any of these details change, please update the PowerPro team immediately, so as to not cause an interruption with your payments or online enrolments

Please see below to determine what data you should provide to PowerPro

PAYPAL

PayPal integrations use a client ID and client secret to authenticate API calls:

- A client ID identifies an app -  you only need a client ID to get a PayPal payment button and standard credit and debit card fields

- A client secret authenticates a client ID - To call PayPal APIs, you'll exchange your client ID and client secret for an access token (Keep this secret safe!)

Here's how to get your client ID and client secret:

1. Select Log in to Dashboard and log in or sign up

2. Select Apps & Credentials

3. New accounts come with a Default Application in the REST API apps section - To create a new project, select Create App

4. Copy the client ID and client secret for your app

PIN PAYMENTS

Please provide PowerPro with your:

  • Publishable API Key

  • Secret API Key

  • PinPayments Payee

Your account has two types of keys: publishable and secret - you can find your keys on the API Keys page of your dashboard

Your secret keys have the ability to use all of the API

This means they can create charges, refunds, and bank transfers

On the live API, these operations have real-world effects, so keep your secret keys for the live API confidential

Your publishable keys only have the ability to store payment card details (with the cards API) and bank account details (with the bank accounts API)

They do not have the ability to create charges, refunds, or bank transfers
They are therefore safer to send to your customers’ computers—to their web browsers or mobile devices, for example

These are the keys you use with Hosted Fields to create secure payment forms in the browser
